Ms. Katie Wood

My name is Katie Wood and I grew up in Bedford County, graduating from Liberty High School. This will be my 9th year in education having begun in 2014 at Jefferson Forest High School teaching science for 7 years. For the last two years I have spent as a science teacher at Liberty High School and an Instructional Coach at Liberty Middle School. While at JF, I also coached sideline and competition cheer. I have experience with intervention teams, student advisory groups, instruction and curriculum building, clubs and athletics, and mentoring new teachers.

I received my BS in Biology and Environmental Science from James Madison University (Go Dukes!) in 2012 and then went on to further that by receiving my MAT in Secondary Education from Liberty University. I went back one more time, this time to Longwood University and received my endorsement in Leadership and Supervision.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my two year old hound dog, Tuck and my friends and family which include my three nephews.

I always love being a part of the school so feel free to invite me into your classrooms, activities, extracurriculars, etc. this school year! I think it is going to be an exciting time!
